Two Piece Fan Shroud?

I was perusing Amazon yesterday and saw that they have two piece fan shrouds for sale, separate upper and lower units. This sounded like a good mod and their compatibility checker says it fits my '05 Envoy so I nearly ordered a set. Then I checked the compatibility chart and the first vehicle listed was a 1995 Blazer, along with a '92 Lumina APV and '94 S10. This made me highly suspicious.

So my questions are:

To anyone's knowledge, did GM ever make a two piece fan shroud for our trucks?
Has anyone tried these parts to see if they fit?

Here's the links:

My '92 Astro had a split shroud. I don't believe there was ever one for our trucks.
IIRC, there was a picture of a home made two piece on the OS.
It was referred to as a redneck project, but IMHO, it would be a good mod and not too hard to do.

:iagree:

My 97 Sierra has a split shroud. I didn't think they made one for our Trailvoys. Sometimes Amazon can be wrong on auto parts, so just be careful. Let us know if it works out.

I don't see them working as the rad in TB's are "sideways" where the tanks are on the top and bottom instead of the sides. Clearance issues galore...

Besides making it easier to swap the fan clutch, why would you do this? Do efans and call it a day, I know there are some drawbacks especially for those who live in the hotter climates.
