Hi everyone, I have another question. 2006 Gmc Envoy 4.2 When I put transmission to the D and still didn't start driving, there are some unusual grinding noise(not very loud), the same noise present when I put the shift in 3, 2 ,1. But the noise go away when I put the shift in N or in R. And when I start driving that noise going away, but when I stop at the traffic light the same noise comes. It's going away approximately after 10min of driving. So after 10 min if I stop car with shift in position D, that grinding noise will go away. The transmission shifts good, the 4wheel drive working good. So I don't know what's the problem? But I see that transfer case is all around like dirty oil, but there are no leaks.

In any case, it wouldn't be a bad idea just to replace the fluid. It has a relatively short 50k mile interval.

Be sure you remove the fill plug FIRST before removing the drain plug.
