Pretty good lifespan out of a later 4L60e. No trouble before now?
Guessing you maintained it with fluid / filter changes at a minimum. All the miles yours?
Most of them that we see here give up about 180-200K mi or so (unmodified).

Only about a 150000 miles are mine and mostly high way driving. It was actually forth gear that disappeared and slips going into third, ordered a rebuilt out of idaho off ebay with pretty good recommendations, supposedly rebuilt with some heavier duty parts, comes with flushing fluid and a 12 month 12 thousand mile warranty so we see how it goes.

mine went out last weekend. 231K on it but Im pretty sure it had been worked on if not "rebuilt" before i got it. Mine had no 2nd gear and was slipping badly in 3rd and 4th.
I knew mine was going bad when i 1st bought it so Ive been researching area shops for awhile. The guy I went with impressed me and gives a 2 yr warranty. Plus he changes the rear main seal which is a must in my book. $3250 complete seems a lil steep for a standard 4L60e but with the heat down here transmissions catch hell and every shop in town has parking lots full of cars so there are no bargains to be had....
