Are these like the motor mounts and need to be factory?

Is there a harder poly mount?

Where has everyone found the best price on the mount?

Mine is shot and looking for the best option. Any help or experienced advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I never read a report about vendor making a difference on this one. Only unusual report was one owner had a bit of residual vibration after changing the motor mounts and he found a rock stuck in the slot of the tranny mount.

Because we run a similar transmission to many other performance GM vehicles, there are poly mounts available for our tranmission. The mount is essentially the same as the older 700R4. Here, for instance, is one from Prothane:

i think our mounts are different. i could be wrong, but in my impala for example the mount looks like that and attatches directly to the transmission. the RWD has a spacer, shaped like a crescent, that attaches to the transmission, that matches the mount on the 4wd transfer case, which is spaced out wider and slightly behind. our mounts attach to that, not directly to the transmission. that makes the mount itself the same between 4wd and rwd models.

this diagram explains it, see #9. (part #9 is not used in 4wd applications so you have to buy one to convert to rwd. and it costs around $35. ask me how i know  )
