I was told there is a seal between the Transmission and TC. I had been loosing fluid but not seeing where it was going. Is this a hard fix replacing the seal?

Correct, When that seal leaks, it usually pushes trans fluid into the TC, this can result in contamination (not the same fluid) and over filling of the TC.
You can check the level of your TC first (top plug only) if it is overfilled and fluid is not a nice blue color, that seal probably is bad.
IMO Fixing that seal is a lot of work.

Another possibility is that one of the trans cooler lines to/from the radiator are leaking which is much more common. They rust out, worth checking closely, especially since yours is a 2002.

I've never read of anybody doing it in my couple of months on the two forums.

More people seem to lose it into the radiator by way of the submerged tranny cooler.

Have you looked over your transmission lines? I am part of the club who had theirs rust out and leaked.

Agreed. Most likely scenario is the transmission cooler leaking into the radiator. But even if it is the extension housing seal, which as they said could be diagnosed by draining the transfer case and seeing if there is tranny fluid in the blue auto trak fluid....

Even if it is the extension seal it is not really THAT horribly bad to change it. All you would have to do it take off both driveshafts, remove electrical connections, and pull the tcase itself, then gasket changeout... Rinse and repeat...
