I'm searching but not finding anything definitive so any guidance would be greatly appreciated..
Application is 2009 Silverado, no mods, not looking for super hard shifts or performance, I just want the trans to tow well and not break. I started noticing some flare/loss of TC lock under light load when the trans was hot (worn TCC bore?) but isn't throwing codes and otherwise everything seems fine... I figured I would upgrade other parts while the valve body was out.
A friend recommended Oregon Performance Transmission so I hopped on their site and ordered their kit which included:
Transgo SK
46-PLT-0 Plate
4th and 2nd gear Super Servos
Sonnax pinless accumulators (Forward, 1-2 and 3-4)
And that's where the head scratching started:
1) Plate/kit is missing/does not include snap in filters... Is there a part number that is likely to be in-stock for quick pickup from dealership/NAPA/Summit Racing/Jegs? (I'm in Columbus so Summit and Jegs main warehouse are both close by)
2) 1-2 accumulator, SK kit calls for replacement spring stack, Sonnax pinless calls for stock. From what I'm seeing, stock is required.
3) Similarly on 3-4 accumulator, SK kit calls for yellow spring and flipping the piston, Sonnax calls for dome up and stock spring in pocket. My truck has a small outer diameter spring in this location... With dome up with spring in pocket there wont be anything to keep this small diam spring centered... Skip it or use the Transgo yellow?
4) SK kit calls for:
BTW, Oregon Performance does not answer email/phone calls and Transgo says Sonnax/Superior parts are never ever to be used and simply will not work

4) SK kit calls for:
- additional springs on servo return
- matched 1-2 accumulator bushing spring
- matched hole in separator plate
- oil exit notches on steel cover
- gold shim
- NO additional springs on 2nd piston
- leave 1-2 accumulator bushing spring stock?
- keep '2-3 shift quality' separator plate hole stock
- YES oil exit notches on steel cover
- NO gold shim
- Omit servo apply pin spring per Super Servo instructions
