I am finishing up my transmission rebuild and am starting on some transfer case bench testing before I start to put everything back together. Does anyone know what the position of the selector should be for the various modes of the 226 transfer case? With the encoder motor off and the keyed selector spline flat side pointed up it is in 4LO and with the flat side pointing right it is in 4HI. Checking the documentation it seems like having the selector at 3:00 should put me in 2HI however I seem to only be in neutral from here. Is this normal or am I looking at a rebuild of this unit as well? Any vendors for rebuild kits that you would recommend?

I looked but could not find a post by me here somewhere that could maybe help. Failing to find that post I will once again load some images of some tests I did that show where the various mode position or ranges of the encoder. I bench tested the output of an encoder sensor which is an internal part if the transfer case shift motor. The images show the locations of the various modes of operation.

The transfer case shift shaft positions as I know them are, full CCW is 4Lo, rotating clockwise from there comes neutral, then 2Hi, then A4WD covers a small range of rotation, and finally 4Hi at full CW.
