Cool thanks man! How hard was the install did you have to modify the bracket at all?

Do not run them myself, used to but their quality is not what it used to be. Have you looked into other brands like Polk, Infinity or MB Quart. Here are the ones I run in the front (for now) and the rotatable tweeter actually helps quite a bit with aiming the sound at you.

Polk Audio db651 (db 651) 6.5" 2-way Marine Coaxial Car Speakers

I would also say if you are open to it, just get a set of good 2 ways, or components if you want to spend the money. 3 (or more) way speakers are more of a marketing gimmick than anything. The 3rd tweeter is small to the point that any sound benefit is not heard over the highs from the larger tweeter or woofer.

it's an easy and straight forward install. i don't remember if i had to modify because i replaced another set of aftermarkets. had these for a few years.
personally i think a set of components would sound a lot better. working on saving for them while i'm overseas.

good luck with which ever option you go for.

Installation pretty easy, the PITA is removing the stock speakers. Epoxied into the mounting brackets. The easy part of this is that the brackets can be removed from the doors, I pried mine out with a fat flathead screwdriver. My other problem was that the basket on my speakers (the RE's) was much larger than the OEM ones, I had to grind out alot of the extra plastic around the hole to make room. I also removed the factory tweeters completely.

hmm. i dont's remember the epoxy being that bad. it popped out for me with just a little pressure on the speaker. and i do recall having to trim some of the plastic.

This is what I'm putting in the 'Hoe. FWIW, JBL and Infinity are both owned by Harmon.

Ok thanks for the help guys! I have looked into polk and them seem pretty well liked.... How much I am gonna be cheating myself if I don't run an amp to them? My head unit is pushing 22wats rms. this is my first stereo install so I'm not trying to turn my self into an audiophile( just yet) but I want something that will nice and clean.

well with out an amp you will not get the full potential of the speakers. depending on what speakers you go with. for example if you get a speaker that is 65-100 watts rms the headunit will handle it fine but you will not get full potential. IMO i would save and do the system the right way the first time. now everyones definition of right way is a little different but i feel you should install an amp but if you go with higher rms speakers to start with and add an amp later on you will be on a good track and wouldn't have to replace the speakers again of course if you want too. if you are looking for good sound with decent bass i would also recommend installing a subwoofer as well.

Here is a really good site where you can get the audion equipment at a decent price.
