The mpg on those things is really bad. My younger brother's PT barely squeaks out 1 or 2 mpg better than my Trailblazer does. Weighs 1500+ pounds less, Engine is nearly half the size, and that's the best it can do? Yeesh.

(He has it because it was my grandparents' vehicle and got it cheap)
And ironically, turbos are suddenly the big thing to have in gas-fueled vehicles stock to boost efficiency these days, a la EcoBoost and the like. I guess there's balances to be had in choosing turbo size and operating characteristics - it can give a tiny motor the feel of a regular motor, or it can ram tons of air in and increase fuel consumption a lot.

The sad thing is my brother's PT isn't even a turbo model so it doesn't have that as an excuse lol

Yeah, turbos are not a big boost to efficiency (no pun intended). Remember the Mustang SVO? When the 5 L GT was making 215 hp the 2.3 L turbo SVO was making 210 hp. The four-cylinder saved about 3 miles per gallon. Very not worth the extra $4000 additional cost.

They can be, when they're not configured to crank as much possible horsepower out of an engine. The concept is pretty much to utilize heat otherwise wasted through the exhaust, and it works, it's only more recently it seems carmakers are taking it seriously. Probably because of increasingly-stringent MPG regulations.

American and Asian companies. Benz had the turbo diesel on the market in 1978.

Diesel turbos have been wandering around a while, but gasoline engines seemed to be lagging behind them except in "sport" setups.

Burning Man just ended last week. I don't know where Gutless is located. Lots of them coming from the San Francisco bay area as well.

Theres this craptastic thing in town. I did a triple take when I drove by it a month ago and didnt have time to get a picture. It came up on the local fb car page.

Looks like an interesting vehicle that'd you'd see in like Mad Max, but hell no, why would you use that as a DD?

Im located in North Dakota, Id be surprised if it made it to the south west. What scares me is it gets cold in ND, How does it not get lodged full of snow in the winter and gain like 500 lbs and freeze solid?

Saw a mid 90's teal chev 1500 with dodge 3ft tow mirrors and a bunch of trailer clearance lights on it in the parking lot today. Next time I see it ill grab a pic. Its not as bad as the no panel saturn above but i think the owner of this is actually serious about the pickup.

This isnt awful, but the tow mirrors, lights, giant antenna, half plasti-dip wheels, ect is just a typical representation of a hick-up. That terrible lifted hick-up that was in the lot last year isnt there anymore.

Keep the same style of wheels, just not so overly big, and it would probably look pretty good.

IMO, I don't think I'd like even just a smaller wheel. I want to see more wheel and more tire. I'm not talking a solid steel wheel, but something more than just what looks like spokes.

Why in hell would they do that? It's fixable, yes, bring that green to a straight line on top, that way it's two-tone. Then get rid of those wheels, drop some SS wheels on there

Drop the green to just 12" from The bottom of the doors and then fog it into the white so it's not a hard line transition.

I like the dark grey ones. Something to set it off from the color of the tire.
