Chicken crosses road in pedestrian crossing

1525471213822.png
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (STORYFUL) - Why did the chicken cross the road? An Oklahoma City police officer is still trying to find out after he watched it wait at a pedestrian crossing.
Video shared to the Oklahoma City Police Department Facebook page shows Officer Cook as he encountered a chicken at a busy intersection.
“Just because we’re in the city doesn’t mean that we don’t have small town problems,” Cook said.
According to police, their investigation didn’t reveal why the chicken crossed the road. “We tried to interview the chicken, but she lawyered up,” the Facebook post noted.

Grandpa Does good

COLUMBUS, Ohio (FOX 13) - Police in Ohio are thanking a man named Bill, whose “fancy footwork,” helped them stop a fleeing suspect.
On April 3, Bill was at a west Columbus library with his granddaughter. He told the Columbus Division of Police he was waiting outside to leave when he heard the sound of police sirens coming closer. Bill looked around him and saw a man, with his hand on his waistband, running toward him.
Police said Bill heard officers yelling multiple times to drop the gun. In surveillance video, Bill is seen assessing the situation as quickly as he could, and with his cane in hand, he stepped back, stuck out his back leg, and tripped the fleeing suspect.
Police found a handgun tossed nearby. The suspect, who wasn’t identified, had a lengthy criminal record, and was arrested, they said. There were no injuries.

now if the fires out, get out the water!
An issue with the Carnival Dream's fire suppression system reportedly caused water to begin flowing down walls and pooling in the hallways of the cruise ship on the evening of May 3.

Around 50 of the ship’s staterooms on Deck 9 flooded as a result of the break, Carnival Cruise Line confirmed in a statement. The liner was five days into a week-long voyage around the Western Caribbean at the time of the incident.

‘Hot Wheels' turns 50: How much do you know about the famous toy cars?
1526650489457.png
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - On May 18, 2018, the famous “Hot Wheels” line of die-cast metal toy cars is turning 50 years old. Here are some amazing facts about one of the world’s best-selling selling toys:
  • Every second, 16.5 Hot Wheels cars are produced. The average American kid owns 50 Hot Wheels. The price of a Hot Wheels car is around $1 -- the same as it cost in 1968.
  • The first Hot Wheels toy ever sold was the dark blue “Custom Camaro” on May 18,1968, thereby marking Hot Wheels’ birthday. The Custom Camaro was part of the original “Sweet 16” line of Hot Wheels toys. To commemorate Hot Wheels’ 50th anniversary, Chevrolet created a life-sized version of the iconic original.
  • The world’s most valuable Hot Wheels car is the 1969 Rear-Loader Beach Bomb, worth nearly $150,000 each. There are only 40 known units in existence today.
  • Hot Wheels’ super-collector Bruce Pascal owns one of the world’s most expensive Hot Wheels collections, worth more than $1,000,000.
  • Since 1968 Hot Wheels has produced more than six billion cars and more than 20,000 different car designs.
  • Hot Wheels’ first partnership with an automaker was with General Motors’ Chevrolet brand. Since then, there’s been a Hot Wheels model for nearly every car ever made.
  • The Hot Wheels garage features a collection of nearly 20 real-life vehicles inspired by some of the most memorable Hot Wheels toys.
  • The iconic Hot Wheels orange track has been sold alongside the cars since the very first models. The color has stayed the same for 50 years, and Hot Wheels makes more than 6,000 miles of track every year.
Happy birthday to an American classic! Here’s to 50 more years of Hot Wheels fun!

Dear Fulshear Police Officer:

May 24 2018

Police officers in Texas were so tickled by a 10-year-old boy's handwritten thank you letter that they decided to share it on social media.
“We received the letter last Friday from a young man who attends Huggins Elementary School in Fulshear,” Captain Mike McCoy with the Fulshear Police Department told Fox News. “During National Police Week, students from this school write us many letters of support. This one, obviously, stood out.”
The boy's letter to a “Fulshear Police Officer” expressed gratitude for his mother getting stopped. “Thank you for pulling my mom over because she deserved it because she took my phone away and I did not like it and how she always brags about how good of a driver she is,” the student said. “And it just annoys me.”
But that wasn’t the only incident he shared. “One time she got pulled over because she did not have a ezsticker on her window and when she came home and told me that I just laughed,” the boy continued.
