Its an accepted fact in the Movie Making Industry that a good part of whether or not movies will “Kill at The Box Office” is often due to a very large extent by the quality and genius behind their Sound Tracks that support them. Even as a Kid… I found that the movies I vibed to the most were most often also those with the kind of music that gave me goosebumps; that made me sit up and pay close attention to every frame of film from the opening scenes to the closing credits at “The End”.
While mine have always of emotional necessity had to be filled with as much muscular musical power and punch as possible for the composers to cram into each scene… your favorites may not have to have that same edgy quality of strength and meaning as these that follow on still do for me… but yours are just as important to you as are my own.
I can count on one hand those that had such a dramatic affect upon me from having seen many thousands of movies witnessed in the past near seven decades that have made the grade. These will probably be soundtracks created by composers-conductors that you’ve never heard of before. Nonetheless... in remembrance of their impressive contributions to the movie making industry… here are a handful of examples of those very few well worthy of your respect and admiration to this day for leaving this legacy of indelibly powerful sound tracks they've created for “The Cinema”:
Bernard Herrmann (born Max Herman; June 29, 1911 – December 24, 1975)
