Came over from the other site when I noticed the migration of so much talent. I'm thankful for the latest troubleshooting info regarding my 4WD system. The selector switch lights would blink, go out and only the red light remained. After reading advice from Roadie I started with the simplest fix first, switching back and forth 50 to 100 times to "clean" the contacts. It worked! Thanks, Roadie and others whose advice earlier helped me save a pile of money replacing my warped exhaust manifold.
The help is VERY much appreciated. THANKS!

Thanks for the kind words, and WELCOME! We're so glad you noticed the different missions of the sites. The switch contacts going open-circuit with oxidation or dust is easy to spot when the red "N" shows up. GM even redesigned the switch around 2005-6 for increased reliability, and it's available at dealers even for a non-ripoff price - typically under $30 if yours goes flaky again.
