Tech 2 cable meltdown!

I think somewhere someone cautioned about the cable connecting your Tech 2 to the OBD Data Link connector??

A warning I should have heeded for sure,,,



Took me a while but I got it patched up. Yes, it can be purchased but I like to fix things...



Lucky for me I didn't burn up any vehicle wiring and it all works fine again.

Was that in the cable itself or the connector? A case of insulation wearing through?

It was just an inch or so away from the scanner end of the cable. Too much twisting while using the device. Leaving the cable connected while not in use and moving the thing around led to way too much twisting of the cable.

I might consider cutting in a small capacity inline fusehilder on my data link power circuit.
