Can you snap a pic of the clearance for the others that may want to try that size...also the actual tire model and brand info?

I ran 265-65-17 on mine and while it was extremely close to the ball joint I never experienced any rubbing. However, mine wore prematurely in the center because in my opinion 265 is a bit too wide for the stock 7 inch wheels. Not sure if the lower sidewall ratio will help or hurt that situation for the OP.

I'd venture to guess over-inflation. I've been running the same size tire for a couple years now, and don't have this issue on my EXT. :twocents:

I have 265/75/16 on my stock wheels and have not been wearing the centers.

Thats why I recommend a chalk test so you get even wear.

Mine have about a 1/4" from the UBJ clearance with my oversized tires and have no issues at all and they look and perform great, Michelins A/T, I also have a minor lift on mine.

I need educated here... where is the clearance issue? Top edge of the tire or inner sidewall?

I am running 265 65R 17" on Rainier wheels. My Trailblazer is a 2 wheel drive if that makes a differance.
I would post a pic but constantly get error 10, and Photobucket has incorrect file extention... I have nothing but trouble with this site.

What browser are you using? IE is known to have issues. I recommend Google Chrome.

But if you go look you'll see that the top of the steering knuckles (where the upper ball joints are) are close to the inner edge of the tire on the top. That's where the clearance issue is.

I am using Firefox on this site. Don't care for Google Chrome. I have Edge and Internet Explorer also but they suck real bad...

If this pic is really taken from a tire that is a 265/65/17 (that is a 30.6in diam. tire) then it would seem that at least on his vehicle a 31.0 tire could fit.

Yep. I have also read that differant tire manufactures may have slightlyt wider tread area, but for me these fit with plenty of room. Bridgstone Duelar H/L 265 65R 17".
