Well was a great 3 days of sledding in Northern Ontario in -20c weather. Then on Saturday afternoon I break suspension parts and limp to a restaurant/gas station near Capreol Ontario to eat lunch and figure out what to do. By sled, I was a few hours away from the starting point but rather than 60-80 mph I'd only be doing about 10-15 mph because of the suspension so that would be a very long ride, by car about 2 hours away. I met 06Envoy at a GMT meet earlier this year and knew he lived close by. So while the group ate lunch I borrowed a cell phone and logged on to GMTNation. I sent a PM with the cell number to 06Envoy . I wasn't sure he'd get the PM or even if he was close enough to help.

Well holy crap! Before I even got my lunch that cell phone rang and it was 06Envoy looking for me. He was headed home but was a couple hours away from where I was.....and....he just happened to have a 20' car hauler trailer on his Envoy as we were speaking. So the rest of the group (8 sleds) continued on the trip and I waited for 06Envoy to come and get me with his trailer. He drove me and my sled back to my starting point of North Bay.

I offered cash for his help but he wouldn't take any. I finally convinced him to let me at least fill up his gas tank and I didn't care that he used 91 octane because of his tune, $96.00 to fill it up. Then when he wasn't looking I stuffed some cash in his cup holder, hoping he takes his Mrs out for a bite to eat since I used up most of their Saturday night.

Thanks for the help 06Envoy, you rock

That is so awesome !!! It's hard to find people like that any more. I enjoy helping people just cause it makes me feel good. I've always said I would love to just volunteer all my time if I didn't have any bills to pay. My mortgage company looks at it differently. Lol. Thumbs up to all those that help their fellow man!

Impressive! Trailvoy, Offroadtb, and now GMTN all have great community rescue stories.

As a fellow sled head (Yamaha ), I can understand when you're stranded and someone can lend a hand like that. We need more people like that in the world. Three cheers for 06Envoy!

Awesome!

Ive thrown this out there on TrailVoy before, but I havent had time to do it on here yet. In the NW, let me know if you need a hand, if its an emergency message and Ill either come myself or get in touch with someone who can help.
