Ok well, im still having seat issues at the moment and I need to pass inspection. Im looking at a few options and would like a nice weigh in if possible.

With the wiring under the seat burnt, and the seat tabs actually being broken I have come up with a few ideas.

I can either one, Buy a new seat with the track, two buy a new track by itself, or three... see what an expert will give me.

i was looking at this track to buy and replace under my seat and pray that it works and restore everything...

Or b. ignore the electrical all together (goodbye heated seats and memory!) and purchase a base seat (if it fits) and just do things the old way.

I am aware that i might not get the same color seat and that this will take the value of the TB down significantly with a different color seat without the electrical options as well. but i can always do seat covers.

Im leaning towards the base seat option.. my friend says i should just take it to the electrical auto shop and see what happens first. Anyone want to weigh in?

Only you know how deep your pockets are and how much you value the smart-seat functions.

How is the seat repair at all related to an urgency to pass some inspection? They include power seat testing?!?!?

Yes. in MD the Driver seat has to be adjustable and able to move forward, backwards, ect in order to pass inspection. Passenger seat does not matter.

Pockets aren't that deep. we are wading in the kiddie pool here. LOL

If the problem is more than a blown fuse or loose connector, buying the track from EBay may be less expensive. :twocents:

I'm with you, the new (to you) base might be the best option...........but it could also be the worst way to go. I guess, my question might be: why would anyone have a used base for sale, where is the rest of the seat?

This is just my suspicious mind; but I'm thinking, that piece of junk is what was left over after someone had the same problem your experiencing.

Yeah, idk if I will go with this one in particular since it looks like it's been sitting outside, but I can go with the idea, even if it's another seat with all of the goodies and I just use the track from that

it's a salvage yard, alot of times the seat is wore out or cut. at our yard we sell seat tracks all the time without seats.

oh and I forgot to say. to save yourself shipping and the chance of it being bad. check your local salvage yards you can probably get one cheap and test it first. there is always alot of 360's at the bone yards
