Since I've ordered speakers for my Envoy I've been thinking about doing the same for my 2011 Silverado. From some research, swapping them (particularly the rear door ones in an extended cab) will be more work than a TB/Voy.
For the New New Body Style (NNBS) introduced in the 2nd half of the 2007 model year GM choose to make the speakers integral with a plastic holder that clips and screws into the doors. There are adapters available for the front doors (Scosche SAGMHR634B Amazon). However, I cannot find any for the rear doors. I have found one example of taking the OEM plastic holders, cutting out the speakers and using the remaining holder to mount the new speaker. Needless to say, if you have a desire to return to stock, you'd need to buy new OEM speakers.
Not that I'm looking for advice right now (though I will gladly accept it)
