I will try to weigh mine to verify the weight. I run 265s on my rims.

285/70/17 BFG KO2 10 ply tires.

I knew when I put them on they were heavy, but I hadn't paid attention to how heavy they were until I saw this thread and thought I'd check. Add in the wheels and I'm around 87 pound total.

Yikes those have to feel heavy man.....That's what made me stay away from the 20s the weight would have been around where you are at for 17s with cheap rims and tires in the 20" size....but then I started to research and found the (discontinued) Trench Rim 20x8.5 weighed 25lbs and a 265/45/20 ExtremeContact DWS 06 tire is 28lbs.. Close to what my 16inch combo is at moment. Pricey but in my op would be worth it for the size..

The Goodyear LS at 255/65/16 weighs 28lbs but pricey at $245 per tire

I remember the 35 12.5 17 retreads coming in at 78 lbs each on the scale vs my current far better tire in same size at 62 lbs each.

My 17x9 aftermarket wheels are 26 lbs for reference.

I didn't realize how some tires are heavy weighing at 50lbs at the most to 26lbs per tire, depending on how wide you...Since I am going to need some new tires in the near future and the limited sizes for 16's I may go up in size depending if I can find those trench rims or just stay with the 16s but put the money towards a lighter tire then I have now..

I used weight as a big portion of my last tire and wheels purchase honestly. It is amazing how much variation there is between the exact same size tire or wheel.

Just for comparison, for the size of tire I'm running on my Silverado (285/70/17)

BFG KO2, LT, 10 ply - 58 pounds
Firestone Destination AT, 10 ply - 52 pounds
Firestone Destination AT, P rated - 44 pounds

Drives that point home about weight variation between brands, doesn't it?

I almost went with the Destination AT on the Silverado like I had on the Trailblazer, Maybe even sticking with P rated just because it is only a half ton truck, and maybe I should have because they are certainly a fair bit lighter and a lot cheaper (P rated also tend to ride a little nicer). I had very good results with the Destination AT, but I wanted to try something different, and the BFG KO2 is rated better than the Destination for pretty much all kinds of weather, so I went with it.

...maybe? I would not recommend that. You're reducing the number of lugs.

I don't think you will find adapters that will take you to a 5 lug pattern. I also think that it would be too much stress for 5 lugs. you can get adapters from 6x5 to 6x5.5.

Yeah if you're going to use adapters, go to the common GM bolt pattern 6x5.5. No problems that way, and a huge wheel availability as GM isn't the only one who uses that pattern.

I have seen the 5 lug adapters and you can really use anything you want. Even go to 8 lug if you wish.

IMG_2014.JPG IMG_2013.JPG Ok I got my 1.5" spacers on the Trailblazer and that give me the opportunity to weigh my tire/rim combo 52lbs. With the spacers adding more filling to the fenders, I've decided to go with the Dunlop Signature 2 235/65/16 at 24lbs for better steering feel vs the the heavy feel with my current tires.
