Size of Envoy fog light?

Can someone please tell me the diameter of the Envoy fog lights? I'm planning out a steel bumper, and think maybe trying to make a housing for the odd shape of the TB fogs may be more work than its worth. Also, any clue if they take the same bulb, and use the same connector?

Thanks

From looking around on the web, they do use the same bulb, which is an 880. Compatibe with: 881, 885, 886, 889, 890, 892, 893, 894, 896, 898, 899, H11, H11B, H8, although wattages may vary.

I'm not an expert, but I think the overall diamter is 4".
However I did notice that they had a very slight ellipse on the sides.

I'm hoping that a more senior member will chime in here with the math formula that describes that ellipse.
In the meantime, here are some pics.

Hmm I was hoping they were about 3" diameter. At 4", its going to difficult to find a piece of pipe to use for the shell (elliptical isn't a problem though, I could just flatten the pipe slightly to match). I've also discovered its going to run about $80 to get a pair of lights, so it may be worth the extra time to create the oddly-shaped shells. One of my goals is to make the new bumper look like an off-road version of the factory bumper cover, and retaining the original lights would certainly help in that.

When I had my custom off-road bumper made, I wanted a smaller hole, so I went with a really tiny and hot flat beam unit. About 1" X 1.5" rectangular opening. So my OEM fogs are up for sale - way less than $80. PM me and I'll see if they fit in a small Priority box.

They're oval, 4 3/8" high - 4 3/4" wide.

Thanks Roadie, but that's definitely too tall to fit comfortably where I need them. My stock lights are only about 3" tall, so it gives me a lot more room to play with. I might try and pull one of them out this weekend so I can trace an exact pattern and see how the mounting brackets are set up.

The good news is I got patterns made for what I anticipated as the hardest sections of the new bumper. These curves are a royal pain to try and match, but its looking good so far...

There are some decent aftermarket projector fogs available that would definitely be smaller.

Wow, those are pretty small! Thanks for the link, maybe someone else can use it. I found that my factory fogs will just fit in the new bumper, so I'm going to stick with them.

Life has caused some distractions, so I haven't been able to put much time into the project, but I do nearly have my pattern pieces finished (the patterns are created, just not re-made in cardboard yet), and I'm still having trouble finding a local source for the right gauge of steel... but I'll get there eventually!

Good to hear, I may end up buying a set because my driver side projector lens is cracked. Maybe I can just source a lens. I think it is 1 3/4".

If it wasn't for the rectangular-ish fog hole on the Trailblazer I'd get a set of the Blazers. I'm nearly done with my projector retrofit for the headlights which rounds them up, but the fogs, well, I can't figure anything out good for those... So I might just have to get stock fogs (I don't have any at the moment, my LS didn't come with them).
