Should I hear the AC Compressor?

I just put a reman ac compressor in from advance and followed all directions on capacities, etc.

Anyway, it's definitely the ac compressor I hear. It's a slight hum, noticeable though and varied with RPM's. I don't hear it outside the vehicle and AC works great and at 51psi low side. Turn off ac and run fan only, sound goes away.

Someone please tell me this could be normal or I might curse myself.

A little noise is normal and expected. I just fixed mine and I thought to myself that this is one of the quietest compressors I have ever heard compared to previous GM trucks and cars I have had but there is a little hum there. I wouldn't worry about it.
