My 06 just started throwing a P2440 code yesterday. I see that some people have has luck with just cleaning the valve, so today I took mine off. No rust in there just carbon, however I could not get the plunger to move. When I put it back on the truck and started the hard code did not clear but the pending one did.

After a short drive the pending one returned. How do you clean/ free up the valve? or can you not and I just have to get a new one from Rock for 123 shipped.

Is anyone else having all these problems at 60K? Air Check Valve, Transfer-case motor, Wheel-bearing. My Parents starting have a lot of problems at 60K with their TB also.

Did you use any spray cleaners like throttle body cleaner?

60K might be the beginning of needing to budget for repairs. Vehicles are constant-expenditure items. If your acquisition loan is over, you have to save at least 50% of that payment for maintenance. If you spend less than your save each month, don't rejoice too much. You may need it for the transmission later.

Did you change the transfer case fluid at 50K?

Don't feel bad , currently mine is at the dealer for a p0411 code which is the secondary injection issue also. It has 50000 miles on it.

I did not use cleaners but I will try that. Can you get the "plunger" to move freely or will that ruin the motor? It is in the closed position so can I pry on it with a screw driver?

Yes I changed the fluid at 51K, changed the switch on the dash so the encoder motor is only thing that is left. (it thinks the truck is in neutral after the TCCM goes to sleep so if i want to use 4wd I have to put the transmission in neutral to shift)

Can anyone help with cleaning the valve?

Can you force the "plunger" or will that break the motor that open and closes it?
