Little bit more done tonight. Finished bracing the baffle and put some duraglas in some areas that i thought might be prone to warping or pulling up. Hopefully i will get these wrapped and glassed tomorrow. any comments or questions are always welcome..

I got both panels wrapped and ready for glassing. Going to refoil the door panels and attach the panels and glass them on the truck to make sure i get no warping or lifting of the edges.

1301660535.jpg

Layed down a layer of foil then attatched the panel to the door and put it back on the truck to glass.

Got more of the bracing done. also doubled up the baffle. was a little tricky the way i did it but think it was worth the extra effort to have it overlap and interlock like it does. Also resin in 6 proggresivly larger layers of heavy chop mat in all the joints.

Got some more done. Resined the complete inside of the box and duraglassed any joints that needed.

1313429008.jpg

1313429005.jpg

Then resined the complete outside of the box and nocked the baffled down and filled and sanded preparing it for paint.

1313429009.jpg

1314153249.jpg

Wired the box

1314153255.jpg

1314153253.jpg

I painted the baffle and wasnt really happy with it so i covered it in burgandy ( exterior vehical color) suede. Also put a coat of cheep spray paint on the rest of the box even though it wont be seen after trim panels are done.

Got the box bolted down this morning. Used four pieces of angle iron and four grade eight bolts. Dont think its going anywhere. Took pictures of one side other side is the same.

1314207619.jpg

1314207615.jpg

After a little setback ( had to unbolt and pull the box back out because it wasnt sitting flush with the floor because of the speaker wires were zip tied in a bundle instead of laying flat) Got back to the start of building the front trim.

This is what i came up with at the last min to be able to run multiple speaker wires into the door and to get rid of the stupid molex plug in the jam. I got four door boots from mid 90s ford ranger and used rubber cement to bond them together and to bond the smaller ends of the ford boots into the factory trailblazer boot ends.

1314578824.jpg

1314578825.jpg

1314578828.jpg

1314578829.jpg

1314578832.jpg

I cut the boots long and over lapped them by about two inches and cut the trailblazer boots so the ford ones would sit inside Then i extended the door side plug wires and put the plug on the inside of the kick panel. There was pleanty of room for the nine factory wires along with four pair 16 ga speaker wires .

I just noticed the body side boot is not pushed in all the way. Also a couple pics of the slow progress on the front trim panels of the box.

Come on guys give me some feedback on this.

Small update. Finished the layers of matting and pulled the panels. now to start cleaning them up and body working them. Also little more routing on the amp trim panel.

Sorry for the slow updates just been blocking body filler for a few days now. decided to change the amp rack and to eliminate one of the four channel amps. It was an extra amp that wasn't going to be used at this time, just put in there for possible expansion down the road.

Huge thanks to Mark Mc from trailvoy.com and offroadtb.com for all the help with my lift. Needed to get tires so i figured might as well do it right. Today i ordered 6 inches of lift and all new struts and shocks along with new ball joints. And 18 inch kmc rockstars with 34x11.5 nitto trail grapplers.

Thank you for all the great comments. Im getting between 10 and 11 mpg around town and it has 3.73 gears as of now. IM still running the stock alternator , it has been doing a pretty good job so far. It takes a few min of beating on it at an idle for it to drop off of 14 volts. I have been holding off putting a bigger one in because there is a motor and axle swap in the near future (hint.. no more buying of spark plugs lol )

I agree. I am right around 120,000 miles and still drives just as good as when I bought her with 15,000 miles.
