Rim,tire, Suspension setup

In order to do the 3" suspension lift do to need to change struts shocks and some other things? Or can you keep it original?

Do some homework before posting any technical questions over there. A lot has been answered and they don't take to newb questions too well, especially vague questions. I'd go broke if I joined over there :rotfl:

I will post pics for sure. I've owned my tb for over 2 years and have wanted to lift it. I've already thrashed around in mud and on rocks with it. I am just slower and more easily confused than most lol. And no I ain't no blonde. Just have a hard time. I really wanna get going on it. I keep hearing I can do it than can't do marks 3" suspension with stock parts but I have a gut feeling I cannot. Thank you so much for being so kind and patient with me. I will definitely be doing what I can when I can and put pics up!!!

What's flipped UCAs mean? I wanna say it has something to do with the control arm, but I ain't sure.

Flipped Upper Control Arm. Gm designed our upper ball joints for tighter turning radius robbing the lifting crowd of downward articulation. There are threads on max tire sizes and the mods needed to go bigger. So some flip and swap their UCA's so the tire clears the bj and adds to the flex.

I must have missed this thread.

Lots of stuff to list, but essentially a Belltech 2/3 kit + DJM front strut mounts modified for a 5/5 drop.
22" Factory Reproduction SS rims, 265/35/22 tires
Lots of custom work to get it this low, and then more to get it to ride smoothly.









Can provide more info if anyone is interested, but most of it is already in my build log.

Let's see if I can remember everything.

Front Suspension:
DJM Upper Control Arms, cut and rewelded further out to fix camber and to fix ball joint angle
DJM 2" Drop Strut Mount
Belltech Drop Strut with no spacers
Bump stops removed
Energy Suspension Sway Bar Bushings
Energy Suspension Sway Bar Endlinks shortened
Fenders cut to allow Upper Control Arm travel
Aftermarket Washer Tank / Coolant Overflow Tank relocated since the Upper Control Arms were hitting them

Rear Suspension:
Belltech 3" Drop Springs cut down to 5"
Belltech Drop Shocks
DJM Rear Swaybar
Suspension MAAX Endlinks shortened to 2.5" (3rd set, finally found a good one)
Airlift Helper Bags set to ~30 psi
Mini C-notched frame
Spohn 4-link Adjustable Upper and Lower Control Arms
Spohn Adjustable Panhard Bar
Exhaust Turn Downs before the Axle

I think that's everything

Why did you get did of the bump stops and will I have to do any fabs when I install my uca

With the height I'm at, the bumpstops were pretty much getting in the way and restricting suspension travel. For a normal ~2" drop, just cutting them shorter should be perfectly fine.

And for installing your UCA you shouldn't have to do much modification. You will most likely have to pry the sheet metal blocking the bolts towards the front of the truck, but other than that you should be ok.

Finally after tons of set backs i was able to get my suspension, brakes and some appearance items done.
What was replaced:
Front:
belltech adj struts
tonys modified upper a-arms
new ball joints
new lower a-arm bushings

Rear:
Belltech rear springs w/1" spacer (for added weight of EXT)
Belltech shocks
Spoon adj panhard bar

Brakes:
cross drilled/slotted rotors & ceramic pads

color matched lower trim, front bowtie, wiper cowl, etc

tinted and clear coated tail lights, 3rd brake light & mirror turn signals

Is the rack still on? Can't tell from the pic. That's a deadly weiner dog! Probably lots of polishing required to get that black to look so smooth.

Rack was removed 6mths after getting it. Only rack allowed on my Tb is the wifeys, when shes laid across the hood. :wink:

I have the belltech 2/3 drop i was worried about rubbing issue's if i put the 22 replicas and 265/40/22? you guys have any issue's?

Those wheel spacers don't seems to be hub centric.... most guys here and on the ortb forum would disapprove of them.

As long as they fit on the hub of truck tight is all that really matter. I have never had a set on the truck with a hub lip, just flat like that. If you install your wheel properly it is of no concern.

They fit the hub tight just no lip for the rim but haven't had any issues yet but only have a few hundred miles on them

I got 100K miles like that and no issues at all. I swap wheels too much to worry about a lip for a wheel.
