Hello,
Disclaimer: I'm still in the planning phase and will start the work in a couple of months after I get everything figured out.
I've been kind of going back and forth about getting the Viper 5706V, or preferably the 5906V aftermarket security and remote start systems for the past couple of years (yeah, that long ).
I do understand that there will be no warranty unless purchased from and installed by dealer, but there isn't one where I live, and it's not like I'd let someone else do the dirty work for me.
Now, I believe I have enough knowledge and resources to finish the basic installation of the remote start and alarm system.
My vehicle is a 2005 Trailblazer LS with none of the fancy options from factory. The only modifications I made are upgrading the head unit and replacing dash and all interiors to blue.
The part that I need help with, is the extra features and selection of bypass module.
I'd like to have the following extra features:
- HVAC cooling after remote starting when the car is hot.
- Vent, open, and close all windows.
- Retain the factory chirp when locking twice.
- Trunk open (if possible, not necessary).
The culprit:
- I want to know which bypass module to get, since I have the LS trim with none of the fancy options.
- I have the manual dual climate control, so I'd like to know if it's possible to run the A/C when the car is remote started, or dooes it have to be automatic dual climate control. I know for a fact that the Viper alarm control module has a built in temperature sensor.
- I'm not sure how to go about tapping into the window controls. I also know for a fact that Viper alarm system does have the option to do the vent, open, and close windows feature.
- I'm not sure if the factory chirp can be done from the Viper system. I know it has it's own speaker and that is used for chirps as well, but I want the one when locking twice to be same as factory.
- It's not really necessary but it would be nice to open trunk from remote, wouldn't it?
Sorry for the long post, but figured better to throw it all out there at once.
Regards,
H4L
