Rear brake Backing Plate

Looking for an easy way to replace the backing plate. Old ones rusted away. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately there is only 1 way and that's by removing the axle shafts, which you will also need to remove the diff cover to gain access to the c clips.

Most here just do with out them. I guess so long as the E- brake line holds it should be good.

Not worth the hassle. I drove my TB for several years without backing plates.

Mine were rusting off (NE Ohio winters/salt) so I helped them along and got rid of them. No ill effects.
