When I changed my thermostat, and later my water pump, the reservoir maintained some coolant in it. I needed to top them off, so it did drain some, but not completely. :twocents:

Use a tube to siphon that out before it mixes with the new coolant.

Did you turn on your heater so the water running through the cooling system might also flush out the coolant there?

If you have an EXT/XL also be sure to turn on the rear heat, and turn both the front and rear heat to max hot.
