PRNDL indicator lights

I am not sure what these are called, so I will call them indicator lights. I have been having an issue with the indicator lights (the light strip that tells you if you are in P N R D). When I start my Envoy they are very dim. After I drive the vehicle for 2-3 minutes they get to the normal brightness. Is there an easy fix for this or is this something that I will have to live with?

Edited the title for clarity.

I believe it is a common failure on many GM trucks and eventually will remain dim or go dark. Unknown if there is a fix except replacing the whole cluster or having it rebuilt.
