Hi All

From what I've read these seals are supposed to be solid when you install them and the line pierces them as it gets tightened in, is that correct?

I bought SunSong lines from Rock Auto and both seals seem to be already cracked.

I took pictures from both sides with the super macro setting on my camera can you tell me if these are defective?

I'm inclined to not trust them and to get a pair that are still sealed but just maybe they are supposed to be this way.

You mean that semi-circle cut inside? That's normal. That's to allow the pipe to slip through.

SunSong? Never heard of them. Sounds like something from.Alieexpress.

FWIW, mine were not pre-pierced and with it already being VERY fiddly to maneuver the lines back into the rack, working in awkward position at the edge of my reach, I'd say it would have been slightly easier to get the lines in place if the seals were pre-punctured.

I've got my engine out so it's pretty straight forward but I don't like the haphazard way these are cut, it's not circular or even or symetrical, I looked at them under my microscope and the edges are ragged.

ALSO: What's the purpose of the "paddle" on the back side?

I ordered the Gates ones, they aren't cheap either, $47 for four. Better than having to do it twice.

I'll take pics and post once they arrive.

Gates seals came in today, much better looking. No cracks or cuts in them they don't pierce until you put the line through them. Pics attached.

I'm glad I didn't put the Chinese ones in!
