My tails are tinted also. and they match up perfectly.

If you get any of your paint of your car, dont worry. just take a rag and rub it and it will come off easily. :wootwoot:

No scuffing or anything?

NOOOOOOO

remember, plasti dip is a rubberized coating.. when it does start to peel, or if you get tired of it, you just peel it off, revealing your factory surface... so if you scuff, then plasti dip, once you remove the plasti dip, you will have scuffs again...and i mpretty sure you dont want to have scuffed up wheels would ya?

So far, all I have done are the pillars between the glass on my TB.

And I know it's not a GMT, but it is a GM. I done the rims on my Vette.

I'm new to GMT Nation and just saw this thread. A friend of introduced me to Plasti Dip. I spent a little time researching it and it seemed like an interesting way to make some changes without it being permanent. I started by removing the rear bumper cover and dipping the step pads and the under trim. Then, I removed the running boards (replacing with nerf bars eventually) and dipped the side under trims. A few days later I noticed a tear in the plasti dip on one of the step pads. I followed all of the directions and applied 4 coats. Did I miss something or do something wrong? This stuff was supposed to last 3 years, not 3 days. Any advice and/or help you could lend would be much appreciated. I plan on doing the same to the grille, front under trim, and roof racks. The grille center bar is chrome, but I want to paint it to match the body color. If plasti dip isn’t the way to go, are there any other suggestions? Thanks.

As mentioned in another thread, plasti dip really doesn't hold up to step pad use. For those you'll want something tougher. I was thinking of something like rhino liner or rubberized coating or something like that for mine if I ever do anything to it.

Thanks Sparky, I think I'll go with 3M rubberized undercoat for the step pads and stick with plasti dip for the little accents.
