Hi All ...
1 ... we need to locate old tech2 pcmcia cards from 2000, 2001, 2002, and/or 2003?
could have labels SPS OTX, FLASH, 3625-07 (07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12 etc.)
2 ... and/or does anyone have the " .bin " software files (software from the cards) from this era?
3 ... also looking for techline CDs/tis2000 installation CDs from the same years.
happy to buy them or barrow and return them ...
any help would be appreciated.
thank you,
ev1

thanks for your reply.
yes, we have tried them, they only post the most modern .bin files, v2012 & v2013.
there is some EU rule that forbids them from posting 'old' software.
they used to be a good resource, but not anymore.
thanks for the lead though ...

Just curious why you would need an older version of Tis2000 and PCMCIA cards? Whatever programming you would need for an older vehicle would be included in the newer software all the way back to 1996.

Judging by his user name, and the pic, I am thinking he has one of those 96-99 EV1's that he is likely trying to diagnose. Since they are not suppose to exist past 2002, I am thinking the programing was dropped newer than that on the BIN files.

If that's true, then it would be a real unicorn, but his profile says he has a 1997 S-10.

Hi All ...
All good comments. THX.
For some reason the comments are not being forwarded to my email so i did not see them until now. it forwarded the first comment but none of the others. hmmm.
Answers ...
1) v27.010 is 2009, too new for our project. the 30.004 you note is likely 2010 or 2011 as 31.xxx is 2012.
2) why old software ... ToolKeeper got it already, good catch. GM dropped the calibrations we need probably in '03, but maybe a bit later. not sure yet. '07-'08 tis2000 can see but not program all the necessary calibrations/modules, eight total, and although tis displays older calibration numbers/versions the system forbids the uploading of those old calibrations which is necessary to coordinate the entire set of calibrations throughout the vehicle. one calibration off and things get tricky with some rather nasty DTCs.
3) unicorn, yes, and as for s10 designation we have one of those, too, except it is an s10E, the ev1 had a sister vehicle, less known, an s10 electric truck produced in '97 and '98 that shares a few components but no calibrations.
All good, still looking for old .bins and/or pcmcias and/or tis2000 CDs ... also happy to copy and return any data that can be found.
... any help greatly appreciated. Thx for the replies.

True unicorns indeed! Hope you find them. May be in the back of a dealership somewhere with an old Tech 2 covered in dust hopefully with the CDs.

Good luck!

@Mooseman - Do you have a way to check his back end, with him not getting the emails?

I will do some searching around for the older BIN files. They will be true unicorns indeed.

I am still curious if the users real name is Jared...

So per this website, there are about 97 BIN files for Tech2. They claim to have all 97 of them for free download..

thx again for replying.
just checked through the legacy BIN site.
unfortunately their bins are current files, not the old files we are seeking.
it seems like mostly a tuners site.
very interesting.

Jared is the owner of the YouTube channel The Questionable Garage who just got a EV1..

And the oddity is, he recently acquired a S10 EV too.
