Ok, My wife's 02 venture's headlights really suck! I have been looking into what other venture owners have done to fix the problem. the best solution has been to convert the headlight plug to except 9007 bulbs over the factory fit 9004's.

The question, for the brilliant electricians, engineers and general knowledge members, is will there be any issues if I get 9007 hb5 100 80w xenon bulbs like these below?

9007 HB5 100 80W Xenon Gas Halogen Headlight High Low Super White X2 Light Bulbs | eBay

or would I be better off just getting these 9004 HB1 65 45w ones and hope it does the trick?

Thanks for any opinions in advance!

Alot of the ebay bulbs are not really much brighter than say an oem style bulb. Usually they have tinted glass and produce a blueish white light, sometimes the light is dimmer because of the glass color.

Your best bet would to either spend $40-$50 on a set of HID's (I know some guys will say stock housing with HID is a no-no, but when aimed a bit down they are still brighter than stock. Your other option is something like the Sylvania Silver Stars, or the GE NightHawks.

Interesting read I found with a quick search.

I would stay away from the 100W bulbs as the wiring will probably not be able to handle that much wattage. I used to have one of those ('99 Montana) and I remember the headlight housings themselves were awful. What condition are they in? The reflective material inside was dull and flaking as well as the lenses were cloudy.

I ran something similar to those before and melted my headlight socket plugs and wiring completely. then I used the following and ran the lights for 2 years no issues except changing one bulb out.

with either you might want to run a ceramic extension like this:

High Temp Ceramic 9007 9004 Power Connectors HID Xenon | eBay

+ youll want to use dielectric grease/paste found at advanced auto or autozone cheap also.

Yes, her housings where dull and flaky. I already replaced them and drilled drainage holes to reduce the condensation and the lenses are clear. I may just add some driving lights to add some light and see how it comes out. Thanks for the knowledge, experience and opinions.
