While in 4lo i have no flat land forward power until climbing a hill in all 3 gears. Is this normal? I get like 15 km/h then the tach climbs high

4LO is just that, low gear. It has a lot of power actually because it is geared so low. It just won't have much speed which is by design. If you're in 4 LO you're gonna be crawling.

IIRC you can't do more than about 20MPH in 4 LO...maybe less.

You can go well over that actually. I have spent literally days in 4-LO. We have a TC that is 2.72:1 and that is pretty good really. Gives us some really nice torque with the 4.2 or 5.3 and a decent crawl speed.

You should. That is the point of the low range in a transfer case. It is not road gearing.

Exactly. I live in very mountainous country, and only use 4Lo on the steep trails. It's great to put it in 4 Lo 1st gear and just idle down the roughest, steepest logging roads without having to touch the brakes. A buddy with a tricked out CJ says that my TB does that better than his Jeep!

Strap the TB to a small house while in 4 LO and you very well may be able to pull it lol

It just sucks when i want to climb a sand hill but know i need a bit of a running start to get over it. 4hi don't work so well for that. I guess the front locker is getting added to my list.
