Going to have new shocks and quick struts installed. I was talking to a mechanic and he says you should wait a little while before aligning to let new springs settle out . Anny opinions and is it necessary to wait for the alignment.

Never heard of needing an alignment after doing shocks. Money grab I think, unless it's part of the price for doing the shocks.

if he's getting quick struts in the front, that logic sorta makes sense, since he's not reusing his existing springs.

Monroe quick struts wont' give you any new bearings. New upper mount, yeah, but if you were to do just the shocks and reuse your springs you should buy a new upper mount anyway.
