Hi guys. New to the site here, been doing a lot of research and have found this site very helpful so far. I'm in the market for an SUV again (had a 03 Grand Cherokee 4.7 before) and I'm really liking the looks of a TrailBlazer.

I'm looking at an 05 and an 06 right now, both loaded with same options, same price. 05 has 60k miles and 06 has 99k miles. Do I go with the 06 with new style grille / front end and little more horsepower? Or go with the one that technically should have less wear and tear?

30,000 + Miles. Thats a lot of miles :rotfl: thats my opinion I would go for 60k all day. At 60k if the car service wast so great you can step in and turn it around at 99K it could be pretty rough

Welcome to The Nation:thumbsup: Sometimes fewer doesn't mean the best. Do research history of both and that should narrow down your pick. Good Luck and welcome again.

The 05 60k one is a one owner, the 06 99k one is a two owner. Both say no accident on carfax. Both look really good. 06 has factory running boards and vent visors, 05 does not. None of this is deal breaking stuff either. The 06 is closer to me so I'm going to go drive that one first, and probably go check out the 05 after that. Unless I fall in love with the 06. 06 has a LITTLE more horsepower, does it really matter?

An SS is the way to go for a trailblazer with HP. Between the 4.2 models its not a big deal. Now what Im saying is to pick up a truck with 60k would be my pick based on what I said earlier 1 owner at 60k You are still ahead of the game on servicey. Now on 99k miles and 2 owners your talking that car may have been neglectedfo basically 100k miles. Take a hard look at both but I would say the 2005 is the better way to go.

:iagree:

With either you should change all the fluids.

Welcome to GMTNation  ! You're gonna like it here.....

i lean towards the 05 because of the lower miles, too bad you don't have service records or do you? If you have a freind at a Dealership they may be able to get some service info or maybe warranty work that was done. Common rust areas should be looked at too, inside bottom of doors on the seam. There is a thread here about where the common rust areas are. Looking forward to seeing which one you get.

Both have G80

I know that the 06 has had something in the A/C system replaced under warranty based on GM records, and I THINK the fuel level sender was replaced too.

That is a common problem.

BTW Welcome on over! Did you find us from Trailvoy?

see if you can find the build date. are they two months apart in age, or two years?

look close for rust in each. look at the inside of all the doors/ hatch/hood, and crawl under if you can to look around. ( a flashlight might come in handy)

you might want to take a photo of the inside of the glovebox door, then you can look up all the installed options.

I wouldn't mind the mileage too much but that's just me. If I like one over the other i'd just go for it as long as it was well maintained. Our trucks can take alot of abuse and still run strong. Check out our offroaders here and you'll know what I mean :P

I bought mine a 2003 with about 78k miles 2 years ago and it's still running strong at around 130k miles. I agree Regular service and maintenance is your key

Well, I'm picking it up tomorrow! A 2005 loaded LT, will post pictures when I get it.

C'mon man give the guy some breathing room. Lol

Mod bug bites / has bitten me on every vehicle I've ever owned. This is going to be my daily, so I probably won't get too crazy modding it.

Welcome to the nation! The mod bug is hard to resist!

Picked it up last night. I like it... couple small cosmetic issues which should be expected I guess with a 2005 at 100k miles. Anyway once this crappy weather goes away I'll clean it up and post up some pictures. Thanks for the welcome guys, this place is alright
