Take a look at boss onyx amps. a friend has one of the 1800 watt mono block amps and is really happy with it. The prices are good. You can run a 4 ohm sub at 2 ohm's. There are several sights online that show you the proper way to wire them.

Ive heard to many people saying to steer clear of boss products. As far as the subs go, it comes in dual 2 ohm and dual 4 ohm. Which should I get to best match the amplifier?

Edit: I assume this is the way to go since the amp is 1200 rms x1 @1ohm

Everyone has there own opinions about brands. I had a volfenhag zx-7160 that I bought used for 50 bucks and lasted me 7 years. People always bash volfenhag, So you never know. You would be better off getting the 2 ohm subs. If you look at picture 6 on your direct link to the amp it shows you how to wire them.

it says for a 2 sub installation 4 ohm would be best.

If your getting 2 subs you would want to go with the dual 4 ohm version. If your getting one sub you would want the dual 2 ohm version. Also not a bad amp at all - great bang for the buck should give you plenty of power to work with. Make sure to get a GOOD 4 gauge kit and wire it to the battery not the terminal under the seat..Hope it helps,
