Metal style water pump gasket or fiber type?

The AC Delco O.E.M. water pump that I just bought has a fiber type gasget

The GM pump I'm replacing had a metal/rubber type of gasket.

Should I go get a factory style metal/rubber gasket?

The mating surface on the housing is in excellent condition. No pitting or corrosion.

Use the gasket that is supplied with THAT pump.
