Never showed an inkling of corrosion on the outside of the red cover.
Probably not salvageable? Oxidation/corrosion looks too deep into the copper. Is it worth tryng to cut them back and solder a new connector on them?

A new cable set is expensive!

THESE 'Bad Boys'... Are The Ones You WANT:

Green Cuprous Oxide (CU2O)... changes the Pure Copper Metal Stranded Wires from being the Second MOST Conductive Metal On Earth after Silver...into a DIELECTRIC Substance and thus, can invade the full length of Battery Cables and interfere with Current Flow. The effect is to increase their Electrical Resistance... and likewise, increase the HEAT that can generate inside of the Cables via "PTC" (Positive Thermal Co-Efficient). At Cryogenic Temperatures... Copper Oxide becomes...Super-Conducting.
