I have been a bad Voymom as we have put a lot of stuff on the back burner as far as maintenance goes(due to wedding planning eating our finances). So Starting October 26th we will be going down our list of things that should probably be done before the first big snowfall. I was wondering if anyone would chime in if I forgot anything that is or maybe of importance, and a little help with prioritizing which things should be worked on first and so forth. Some things, like lubrication, I just grew up watching my dad have done to his vehicles before winter, not sure of the importance of it, but if it isn't needed just let me know.

Thank you!

New ceramic brakes(1/2 worn but very noisy)
New rotors all around
New rotor shields all around
New tires all around(a little less than 1/2 tread left) Also need recommendation on a good tire brand that works well with these trucks(prefer all weather tires with good high speed ratings and wear ratings)
Service 4x4
New end links all around
New shocks and struts all around
Alignment
Power steering fluid flush(It's dirty, PS pump replaced in March)
CV joints/boots checked
Lubrication
Rubber mats
Top off fluids
Spark plugs
Fan clutch(maybe e-fans with PCM tune)

Truck has 121k on it, the only things we replaced were the PS pump, water pump, thermostat. We run Mobile 1 full synthetic. Not sure of the tire brand on it now, but it seems to wear down fairly quick.

Why? Only do rotors if needed. Likely just turn them unless warped.

Why? I threw mine away. They just catch rocks.

AutoTrakII fromt the dealer in the TC. Do it every 50K. Check for porper sounds and actions from all components.

Why? Do they make noise? If they do, is it just front or rear or what? I had more miles than you on stock ones and they were good before i went to quick disco and no bar in rear.

If original, it is prolly time for them.

Alignment
Are the tires wearing funny or is the truck pulling or do you just want to throw money at it to say you did?

Definietly do all fluids in diffs, transfer case, engine

Why? Is there a code or noise from it. If it works...leave it alone.

Tires may be worth changing, but may be fine. There are tons of ratings available online

If It aint broke...why F with it? You do all that and if something is done wrong, you dont know what variable caused the issue. It seems you just want to do stuff to it. Why waste money though? You need to figure out what it needs and address that first. Also the TC and diff fluids are important.

One is slightly warped. I would rather change all 4 instead of just one

Will be throwing mine away then

10-4!

Yes they make clunking noises, LOTS of play in all 4, to the point where I could probably just pull them off. The move heavily from side to side and up and down, rubber is non existent in the front end links.

They are original

Even wear on the tires as far as we can tell. It does pull pretty hard to the left.

No code yet, jet engine sound is terrible, dealership that fixed my blower motor the day after I brought it home diagnosed it. Really bad ticking from engine bay, sounds like a bomb is about to go off.

I agree 100% everything is original to the truck, I will check the spark plugs before replacing as we have no service records from previous owner. TC and diff has likely never been done I know stealership didn't even do oil change on it as it sat on the lot. And if I wanted to just do things to it, I would start with wasting my money else where...like tinted windows, rims, etc.. I do appreciate the help Kyle!

Voymom, Trailz is right don't throw money just to throw money. Well unless you want to throw some my way. lol. Go to a shop or mechanic you are comfortable with and get an alignment inspection if the vehicle is pulling. Possibly a bad ball joint or tie rod. They can also tell you which links are bad. Brakes also, you can find out if rotors are warped or another issue.

Just looked at my receipt and it was one year ago on the 14th that I bought new tires. Kelley Springfield Safari Signatures. In the year that we have had them, my wife and I have put over 12000 miles on them with no issues. The tires still look brand new. Traction wise I have had no issues in rain, snow, or the brief bit of ice we received here in Kentucky. Not a loud tire either. Not the cheapest tire we can get for our trucks but not the most expensive either. At the time they were the best deal I could get locally, at $131 a tire installed.

What about fuel and air filters, and if there is any rust, think about a fuel pump. (or keep a nose for gas smell)

I did not drive mine very often and had lots of rust on the disks. I picked disks that were painted (on the non contact part) after new ones and brakes she rides like a dream. I also put some drag reduction clips on (like $6 an axle)
