leakin' tailgate near license plate

I'm leakin' behind the license plate. Do you use adhesive and the new gasket? Or just the new gasket?

Is it oozing the black stuff? Ive seen a mod where someone took off the black gasket and used putty tape on it made it look very clean. better than the black gasket. heres link http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=62496

Then after awhile she noticed it was leaking..so she put clear silicone around it.
