4L60E gurus, I got a P1870 in my Tahoe which I read is typical of the TCC Valve. Does anyone know if I can use the Transgo 4L60E HD2 shift kit to fix it instead of the the SK 4L60E kit which is the kit listed as the TCC Valve fix?

I would contact here:

PWM Eliminator valve :: 4L60E Upgrades :: Pro-Built Automatics

https://www.700r4l60e.com/store/product.php?productid=315

I simply replaced the valve, and drilled the plate with the drill bit you can get from them....very easy.

When you pull the valve body down, I would absolutely replace the separator plate...get it from the dealer so it's VIN matched.

Here's a write up I did, the pics came out in reverse order...sorry.

I think that the HD2 kit comes with the TCC PWM eliminator valve but not positive. Any particular reason you want to use the HD2 vs the other kit though? HD2 will require dropping the tranny and working inside of it.

I found oil on the bell housing yesterday and I'm almost sure I have a rear main leak as well so I figure if that's what it turns out to be I might as well just do the actual shift kit as well since my initial impression was the trans would need to come out. Plus I like having firm snappy shifting. I read on transgo that 05+ need the trans removed but before that it doesn't need to be removed. That's just going off the page tho, I could mistaken. It's a 99 btw.

Ah got it.

Well you could buy the kit first, and if it doesn't have a new TCC valve for some weird reason you can always get it separately.

Make sure you don't have a valve cover gasket leaking onto the bell housing.

I gotta go through everything real close still but the valve cover was on my hit list. I also read to check the intake cause that's notorious for it on the 5.7. Just mentally preparing for the worst case lol.

on that 99 if you have never had the intake off before, you need to do it. Those old gaskets are a failure waiting to happen.

Hard to tell you how to fix a P1870. There's a sonnax reaming/sleeve/valve you can have a trans shop do for less than $100.

But on my 03 2wd I still had P1870 after a fresh rebuild. Ended up replacing internal harness, PWM solenoid and the Force motor/pressure solenoid.

Fyi, this thread had been dead for almost 3 years. I doubt he's still looking for an answer
