Keyless one press to unlock all?

Anyone know if the keyless module (or bcm if that controls it) is able to be reprogrammed to not have the "double press to unlock all" and instead have it be one press to unlock all? Searches only provide a "not sure" answer, and that was from 2010. In the same category is it possible to turn off the auto lock when in motion or shift out of park?

Why? I'm lazy like that... And switching between vehicles that have one press unlock to the TB with two press unlock is an annoyance.

I know that a tech 2 would be required... Getting access to one isn't a problem, but don't want to waste the time driving 6 hours (or pay a local dealer to save the drive) only to find out it doesn't work.....

Oh and I don't have the driver's info center thingy in my TB....

Thanks!

Its configurable in the DIC...both my 02 and 08 have the ability to turn the driver's priority unlock off.

Therein lies the problem and reason for the question.

I just checked my non-DIC TB with the tech2, I couldn't change it. I've read that having the Tech2 along with a TIS account can do a lot of cool stuff (like changing RPOs), but I don't have the experience with TIS to say for sure that it would work.

Thanks for checking, guess it's off to the dealer... Eventually. They might have this TIS doodad.

I missed this part the first time.

The owners manual of my 03 states:

Programmable Locking Feature
The following is the list of available programming
options:
Mode 1: All doors lock when the transmission is shifted
into gear.
Mode 2: All doors lock when the vehicle speed is
greater than 8 mph (1 3 km/h).
Mode 3: No automatic door locking.
The automatic door locks were pre-programmed at the
factory to lock all the doors when the transmission
is shifted into gear. The following instructions detail how
to program your door locks differently than the factory
setting. Choose one of the three programming
options listed above before entering the program mode.
To enter the program mode you need to do the
following:
1. Begin with the ignition off. Then pull the turn
signaVmultifunction lever toward you and hold
it there while you perform the next step.
2. Turn the key to RUN and LOCK twice. Then, with the
key in LOCK, release the turn signaVmultifunction
lever. Once you do this, you will hear the lock switch
lock and unlock, the horn will chirp twice, and a
30 second program timer will begin.
3. You are now ready to program the automatic door
locks. Select one of the three programming options
listed above, and press the lock side of the power
door lock switch to cycle through the lock options.
You will have 30 seconds to begin programming.
If you exceed the 30 second limit, the locks will
automatically lock and unlock and the horn will chirp
twice to indicate that you have left the program
mode. If this occurs, repeat the procedure beginning
with Step 1 to re-enter the programming mode.
You can exit the program mode any time by turning the
ignition to RUN. The locks will automatically lock and
unlock and the horn will chirp twice to indicate that you
are leaving the program mode. If the lock/unlock switches
are not pressed while in the programming mode, the
current auto lock/unlock setting will not be modified.

Lol. The owners manual.... Something that my vehicle didn't come with when I bought it.

I have it downloaded, but get brain explody when I try to find anything in there. Whatever happened to K.I.S.S. (not the band)?

The owners manual of my 03 states:

The power of technology wins again! While not exactly what I was looking for, I'll take it. Next phase, DIC install.

However.... Turns out mine has 4 options, the 4th being no lock.

I realize this, but I was pointing out the only way I know how to do it is to use the DIC.

Looks like you can adjust it otherwise, let me know if you get it working.

Cool! So I take it all the custom settings are only available with a DIC-cluster?

The DIC will allow the driver's priority as you mentioned, but I need to find some time off work to see if a dealer cab adjust it w/ a tech 2. If not, I'm sure a bcm switch to a year that does have that option can be arranged and would be cheaper/easier than a DIC install.

The non-DIC vehicles do have a programming instruction in the owners manual for how the locking function behaves... It's limited to what it can control.

Also I misread, mine does not have a no lock, just no unlock.... I will also ask the dealer if that can be changed to no lock.
