Hi I just replaced the 4.2 due to a broken piston. I went to start it and the PCM fuse keep blowing I found that problem but now the starter won't cranks I checked all the pins I found that the PCM is not grounding out the circuit. Also the gauges in the car don't work not voltage or fuel level or service engine soon light. I have good voltage and I can jump the starter both at the relay and the starter and it spins just fine. The problem is the PCM I think please someone give me a direction to go I'm lost at this point

"pcm is not grounding out the circuit"???? what do you mean by that. The PCM needs to send a ground to the starter relay to operate it which then send voltage to the starter to make it start. IF you are referring to that ground, then that's your problem... get that ground happening. That likely means you are missing a ground or two or you have another fuse blown ... the pcm receives a "start voltage" indication thru a fuse. You said you fixed your problem with the PCM blowing fuse... what exactly did you fix? OF course, you checked ALL your fuses just in case some others are blown, right?

Lastly what year of vehicle are you talking about.

Which PCM did you use? The one off the bad engine or the one from the replacement engine?

Check the grounds on the engine. There are two on the lower left side. And as asked, did you use the pcm that came in your truck? Otherwise the anti-theft will not recognize it and not crank.

You also mention nothing working in your gauge cluster. Anything else not working? Check the mega-fuse and if all check out, could be the ignition switch.
