Just used the search to find a fix for my 4WD. When changing the selector switch from 2WD to AWD all was well but from AWD to 4HI ,the light flashed and "service FWD" would light.I was expecting the worst but tried switching the selector quickly a couple times with the key off and so far, all is well.

Yea, fingers and toes crossed. TCCM for 02 is flakey and recommended to replace with 03-05 unit.
I heard the whine and clunk as explained after the "cleaning" with no SERVICE 4WD light yet.Got to be ready, ICE forecast for tomorrow. Had ice Monday and 4WD was hit or miss. Scary in the Tennessee Hills.
