is there an electronic resource listing all the nut sizes for repairs?

I'm accumulating sockets on a per-repair basis.

Thanks.

IMHO, you can get a complete set of sockets for a lot less than buying them one at a time.

Well, that's true, too.

How about this: what's the biggest nut on this thing, anyway?

I have a "set" but I don't have the, what 20mm? 22mm? for UCA bolts?

And the deep sockets for the struts?

I might end up with another set, just want to make sure I get what I need.

IIRC, the 35 or 36 mm nut on the front axles is the biggest. You can sometimes rent that socket, unless you need to replace your axles a lot (like some off-roadies..... um, I mean off-roaders) do.

Yep, 35 or 36mm is the biggest. Then , depending on year 22 or 21mm for the UCA and the tie rod end. 20mm on down for everything else. 19mm for the wheel nuts. The smallest I've seen so far is IIRC 7mm.

And get 6 point, not 12 point. The 12's will tend to round off the nuts because they don't "grip" as well as the 6's.

That's what I was looking for. Thanks!

I'm not advising this but I have a 36MM and while it isn't a tight fit for the factory CV nut (which takes a 35MM) with my 6pt socket it fits plenty tight to take it off and on. 36MM is what most aftermarket CVs use.

I have up to 22 mm and then the aforementioned 36 mm and have taken most of the truck apart without issue.

Keep in mind that sockets do not fit everywhere and a basic set of wrenches comes in really handy.

My basic trail set, which actually seems to get used the most, even at home is

this
Metric / SAE Combination Wrench Set - 22 Piece

and this
64 Piece 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" Socket Set

Lifetime Warranty and if I happen to lose them or they get stolen, I am not out that much. The ratchets are actually better and seemingly more durable than my Craftsman and other ones. I have no complaints about either of these sets and would buy them again.

24mm for the lower strut mount.

Nice catch on the lower strut mount. That's on the list for this round of work.

Picked up a 50-250 ft lb torque wrench, sockets 17-22mm at Northern Tool today.

Now all I ought to need is that 24mm, the parts, and half a clue. At least the parts will come in the mail ....
