Is the tag light controlled by light sensor?

06 Trailblazer...does the ambient light sensor control the license plate lights?

It comes on when the parking lights are on. So, in a way, yes, it is controlled by that sensor.

Ok. Thanks. Deputy got me last night for not having a tag light. Bought new bulbs and replaced,but this was at noon. I covered the sensor but it took a few second for the lights to come on. Just making sure I didn't have another gremlin.

Can always just turn on your headlight switch to test any exterior lights also. Easier than covering the sensor

True. I figured my kid left his sweaty soccer jersey in the truck for just this purpose.
