I currently own a 2002 Envoy SLT 4x4. I have grown to like this vehicle. It has had a few problems over the years but nothing major and I like the true 4x4 features. ie...4 lo, 4 high, 2 WD, and AWD.

The Rainer has the full time AWD and the 5.3 Vortec. I like the idea of the 5.3 vortec but am not so sure about the full time AWD. I do use my Envoy in 4 low and 4 high when camping in the desert. Deep sand, rocky hills, etc Would I be disappointed in the AWD capability of the Rainer?

My Envoy drive train has been extremely reliable. Would I be disappointed with the reliability of the Rainer drive train? Thanks for any input.

It's not a full time AWD, it's part time, just like putting your Envoy 4x4 in auto. You will be disappointed. I hated it in the Saab, same engine, same setup. Called it the slip/bang system.
