This place just opened up down the street from where I work.

Home - Jack Junkies - DIY Auto Repair Garage

I've heard of these kind of shops elsewhere, but never seen one nearby. Has anyone used one?
My biggest problem with working on my truck is as I get older it's getting harder to crawl underneath. Renting a 2-post lift for half a day would certainly make things easier

I used one years ago and yes, the lift makes things real easy. If you have air tools, make sure the fittings (long Lincoln, short Lincoln) match up so you can use your own.
I'd still be using the place but I moved and there isn't one around here.

That's pretty tight! They even include Mitchells in the bay fee. Dayum!

I would use something like this, but sadly nothing around me. With all the motorheads in Southeast Michigan, I've wondered why something like this doesn't work around here.

I would think insurance would be sky high.

And before someone says "Waiver",
Waiver, smaiver. Attorneys love these things

I'd love this in wintertime. I used to have a heated garage but this house only has a tiny single that can barely fit a snowmobile.

I wish they had them here. We use to have one on base.

Plus, if you get stuck you can hire a tech for $39 per hour. And they'll have parts delivered if you forgot to bring something or found more repairs after you got started. If I only had the time I'd be there this weekend

I've always thought this would be a good idea. 16,000 sqft, that's a lot of space. I would totally use the service, just for the lift. You could bang out so many maintenance items in like two hours.

There's a DIY garage here in the Milwaukee area. Haven't used it, but seeing how stuck I usually about get mid-repair, I'd need to have them rent me a hotel room so I could finish the work the next day. And I'd have forgotten about to bring about 16 things and the delivery charges would kill me.

Yeah..they tried this around here(WNY) many years ago but after having a couple of rust buckets fall off of their lifts, gas tank fires, etc. the idea died away...Mike.

When Advance auto parts was closing stores in my area they started renting out the bays. I thought that was a cool idea. The store front windows were painted black, but the bays were open. This was about six or so years back. The store opened new locations without bays.
