Inner tie rod replacement.

Hi Everyone!

Well, it's time to replace the inner tie rods on my 07 LT 4X4. I have never owned a rack and pinion equipped vehicle before so I was wondering if you folks had and tricks, tips, or suggestions.

Are there any write ups or decent videos around? I think I came across two so so videos on YouTube. I look forward to hear any thoughts, opinions, or experiences. Thank you all and have a great night!

That video is OK. One thing that is recommended is to use a pipe wrench on the rack to prevent it from turning when removing and tightening the tie rod.

My tip is to either have new dust boots on hand, or shield them when you have to pull out the torch to separate the inner and outer tie rod ends. I ah, may have spent more time looking for a replacement boot locally than actually changing the hardware in the first place...
