inconsistent p0014

For some months I've gotten a P0014 code. The screen on the camshaft position actuator was broken, so I bought a new one and installed it. What happens now is that if I drive on the highway for twenty miles or so then the p0014 code is thrown. Then if I drive around in my small town for a few days, never going more than a mile or two at a time and at low speeds, the light turns off.

To complicate the matter, this afternoon while idling the engine started running badly, and the pending code thrown was p0300.

I've periodically cleaned the throttle body, but haven't done that in probably a year.

Suggestions?

There's your problem....it has failed.

1. We always recommend you use the OEM ACDelco parts for this because aftermarket parts aren't made to the same standards and don't read things right and it makes the PCM unhappy.

2. If you can turn it with it bolted in, it has failed internally.
