In need of 4.2

Well, a very faint knock got really loud this morning. It's there at idle but not very consistent through the rpm's. Rev it up and it's there through around 2 grand then it's less noticeable but let off and it disappears until it returns to idle.

I'm pretty sure it's a rod bearing but a co-worker would have me believe it's a spark knock. Either way I'm taking it to a local shop tomorrow to confirm my fears and I'll decide what I want to do.

So, does anyone have a good source for a quality 06+ 4.2L vortec in michigan?

There's one on Lansing Craigs list. The ad says you can still hear it run. $350.

Edit. I just looked, and it's an 02.

What new ride did you trade it in for? And what do they give you for an suv needing a motor?

I got $1000 on the trade in. I ended up with a 2014 cruze LT with 30000 miles. I needed something good on gas.
